Behaviour is the signal. Intention is the source.
FITT16 is an independently developed framework that helps us make sense of who we are. By identifying patterns within an individual’s ranked talent profile, FITT16 identifies the one of sixteen archetypes that fits best, providing an overarching understanding of what drives us, what we’re naturally trying to achieve and how we go about it. What makes FITT16 different is the combination of that bigger picture with the rich detail of our individual makeup, creating a deeply personal understanding that can be applied to almost any aspect of life. At its centre is your intention: the source of the behaviour others see.
Why intention, not behaviour?
Most personality and behavioural models describe how people tend to think, feel or act, and group them into categories. That can support self-awareness, but it often leaves people to translate what they have learned into action on their own.
Behaviour still matters. FITT16 treats it as the signal: the visible expression of an intention, shaped by context, pressure and skill. Naming the intention shows not only how someone shows up, but why, and where their effort is most likely to be valued.
Behavioural models
- Describe how you tend to behave
- Sort you into categories
- Leave you to work out what to do next
FITT16
- Names what you are trying to create
- Groups people by intention, not behaviour, and treats your archetype as a starting point
- Shows where your contribution is valued, and why it is sometimes misread
From intention to impact.
Intention cannot be seen directly. What others see is behaviour, and they interpret it through their own intentions, not yours.
Intention
What you set out to create.
Shaping
How you act on the world around you to create it.
Impact
How other people receive and interpret what you do.
The gap
The distance between what you meant and how it landed. This is where FITT16 does its work.
Every intention needs three things to land.
FITT16 doesn’t change you. It changes your approach.
From 34 to 16 to 4.
No new assessment and no questionnaire. FITT16 works from the ranked talent profile you already have.

One archetype
The FITT16 engine reads your full ranking as one pattern and identifies the archetype that fits it best.
One of four groups
Each archetype sits in a group, and each group plays a different part in a team or organisation.
Not a list of traits. The pattern that connects them.
Your core intention
Which intention is yours: what you are fundamentally trying to create, and the direction you keep moving toward, even when conditions are difficult.
Your perception and decision-making lenses
How you naturally take in the world, and how you come to a decision about it.
Your shaping style
How you characteristically act on the world around you, in your work and in your relationships.
The dynamics you create with others
Where collaboration comes easily, where it takes work, and what you need from the people around you.
Sixteen archetypes. Four groups. Two orientations.
Realists respond to the present. Idealists create the future. Within each group, two goals meet two approaches, and each meeting point is an archetype.
Realists · respond to the present
Idealists · create the future
A century of psychology, integrated.
FITT16 is an independently developed framework. It brings five established lines of research together through Intentional Niche Theory.
- Trait measurementFrom Allport to modern strengths assessment: increasingly precise measurement of the traits that make each person distinct.
- Psychological typeJung’s observation that traits work as a whole, forming coherent patterns that interact in predictable ways.
- MotivationFrom Maslow to self-determination theory: people act from internal needs for autonomy, competence and relatedness.
- Intention and behaviourFrom Lewin onwards: intention and behaviour are distinct, and the gap between them is structural, not moral.
- The whole personGestalt and person-centred psychology: the configuration, not the sum of its parts, is what makes a person understandable.
Brings these together. Its premise is that people shape their environment to create value that others recognise, and that recognition, which is belonging, regulates how much they go on to give.
A starting point, not a box.
- Your archetype reflects your underlying intention at your best. It is not perfected behaviour, and not a record of what you have learned to do well.
- The real test is whether it explains your recurring patterns of energy and friction over time, especially under pressure.
- Your talents carry the nuance. The archetype is the thread; your talents are the detail.
- If another archetype fits better, reflect on it and email us. We will review it with you.
Archetypes are a human-made way of organising understanding, not absolute truths. FITT16 uses them as a practical tool: a way to see the pattern in your talent profile as a coherent picture of how you contribute.
